FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - An incident that occurred at the Fulton County Jail and resulted in the death of an inmate is currently being investigated by many law enforcement authorities.

An incident that occurred at the jail and involved three inmates is being looked into by investigators and agents from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, and the Homicide Unit of the Atlanta Police Department, according to officials with the Fulton Sheriff's Office.

Aside from the statement that one person was killed, the authorities have not made any further information regarding the incident public. Their identity has not been established beyond a reasonable doubt.

After family members of detainees came forward with reports of intimidation and beatings of their loved ones by violent prisoners demanding money, the topic of safety at the jail became controversial.

FOX 5 has a tape of a phone call that was made by a juvenile inmate pleading with a relative to send money to help another inmate, who can be heard in the background of the call. The audio was obtained by FOX 5.

The relative is heard advising his loved one, "It is not going to stop," which can be heard in the background. At the beginning of September, it was reported that a detainee stabbed a deputy working at the jail many times while the deputy was attempting to finish processing the man.
